"Steampunk" notebook cover

SooooooOoOoOo!

I have been wanting to try my hand at the whole "steampunk" look in a craft, so this is what turned out.

I plan to bind paper and make it into a journal or something like that. Hehe!

I began with cardboard, painted over it and made the bends for the spine.

With lighter brown, I did two stripes of cardboard to add somewhat of "hinges" for the book.

Ta-da!

This is the finished product BEFORE I added gold spray paint ...

Some of the pieces and scraps are made of polymer clay (by myself) and obviously others aren't.

(Btw, is it illegal to spray paint a penny? Because I might go to jail for being the first person to do so. JAHAHAHAH!

Ahem! Sorry, couldn't resist that. XD

Close up.

I'll post when I have done the paper binding and it it truly finished.

Tom and Loki - polymer clay

Alright my darlings ...

So, I had been talking to a dear friend of mine over chat and such, and I had this insane, beautifully gorgeous idea come to me. Thusly, it had to happen.

What, you ask?

Well, I shall show you.

For those who do not know of a certain British actor named Tom Hiddleston ... well, you know of him now. Amazing, amazing actor and wonderful guy in general (as most everyone thinks... ehehehe!). He's more known for his parts in the Thor movies and The Avengers as Loki of Asgard (duh, you wouldn't be here if you weren't nerds and knew of him) ...

Ok, off the bunny trail already, Abilaine.

This is what happened ...

So, yes, apart from being excessively nerdy and rather ridiculous ... I love them both sooo terribly! Yet, alas, in vain. They were made (as I said) for a friend and I have a Loki already so no need to be greedy and mean. :D hehe!

I did not even hint that I was sending them (believe me, I was grinning and laughing over my pure genius for days) and she was ... well, surprised I think. *winks*

I admit it, I am afraid I got utterly too attached to "tiny Tom" when I was making him.

*sobs*
TAKE CARE OF HIM, my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*ahem*

Where was I?

:}

(I just want to pinch him little cheeks!!!!)

Sorry.

Gotta say, am rather proud of the hair.
Yea, yea, I'm so humble but seriously ... the fabulousness is astounding. *swoooons*

There you have them, people.
TAAAA-DAAA!

Angry birds, Elsa, and Sherlock Holmes hat - colymer clay

Since I did my Avenger clay figures (here) I decided I would put up some more of my stuff ... :D

Angry Birds and Bad Piggy

 Queen Elsa of Arrendale

 Sherlock Holmes deerstalker hat

Did this for a dear friend of mine .. unfortunately in the mailing process the bow fell off (*screams*)
but it was repairable so I'm exceedingly happy about that. :D

So do tell me what you think, my dears!

The Avengers, Nick Fury, and Loki - polymer clay

Ok, ok, so some may know this already but a few months ago I went and bought some Polymer clay. Aaand let's just say I ADORE the stuff!! So fun and easy to work with.

Sooooo ... TA-DA!

 THE AVENGERS.

Had tons of fun doing these. And they were relatively easy to do once I got the basic idea of how I made each one ... :D

Captain America himself ... (yes, my favorite, I admit)

Tony Start (Iron Man) ... a close second.

Aaaaaaaaand ...

"I am Loki of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose."

My pride and joy, people. XD However, to my utter sadness, the cape was so thin at the bottom that one *bang* and ... well, there went the corner of the cape! But he's just adorable and I wouldn't dream of parting with him ...

Bonus for a certain someone I know ... *winks* You know who you are, my friend. :D

So ta-da!

Comment what you think and who's your favorite.

Blessings!

Shroeader (... and the fabric marker battle!)

  Hey, hey, everyone!

Well, this week has been crazy crazy for me, especially this weekend. But I survived (which is always good ... hehe!)

Now, before I bore ya'll to your deaths, here's my last project.

Sooo, for a while I've been really wanting to try out fabric markers and whatnot, and I finally just went and got one. I was kinda in a hurry so just grabbed a "Stained by Sharpie" at Hobby Lobby (who knew?? LOL!) and overall it worked marvelously!

OK, for those who don't know I'm a huge fan of Schroeder from the Peanuts comics/cartoons (mostly because I play piano) aaaaaaaaaaand ...

  Well, this happened.

Alrighty, so I'm not entirely happy with it but I was rather surprised I actually did it. :D

Before when I was interested in trying markers, so I researched it quite a bit and knew exactly what to do overall.

(used this as the reference picture)

I put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt, so to not let the maker bleed and soak through onto the back.

Penciled "the sweet babboo" onto the shirt            ...              and started going over it with the marker.

TA-DA!

But easy wouldn't be the word for it, people! :D
It was a rather irritating process (seeing I hadn't ever done it before) and the shirt is made of stretchy, clingy material ... thusly, the "battle" part.

hehe!

I have NOT washed it yet (scared to almost) but I am almost positive it should stay and not fade
or anything completely despicably tragic. :)

yes ... you can see the color change ... this is the true color ... :D

All in all, I am quite alright with it. (perfectionist talking here!)
Comment your thoughts and/questions.

Oh, and by the way, a big art dump coming soon ... so keep your eyes pealed. :D

God Bless,

Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man's helmet

Well, as the title says ...

 TA-DA!

Iron Man's helmet!!

So, I started this project three days before my friend's birthday (hah, bad idea!!!) and was completely thinking I was not EVER going to possibly get it done.

But I did, obviously.

*insert giddy laughing*

Moral of the story: Don't go skimpy on duct tape and spray paint!!! XD

My first "attempt" was a complete fail (no, there is not a picture!! ahhh!) :}
I got incredibly irritated and just went almost crazy ... but it usually takes a whole lot to make me give up on anything. Anyway, I ended up using the "fail" as a prototype and soo ...

(after hours upon hours) ... I got this.

Turned out pretty well considering that I was so pressed for time and all.
I used mostly medium weight cardboard and made a sort of cap like thing from the inside, using the duct tape to get the pieces to mold together loosely (so I could make changes if needed).

(sorry no pictures for that ...)

I used heavy duty glue to bond the whole thing together and make it look like metal or whatever. :)

First coat of paint turned out pretty well ... not enough coverage and a few mess ups.

I'm pretty sure I put four coats of both the gold and red on. XD
More was needed in certain places of course and the thing smelled horrendously!!

(by the way, like if YOU (...and she knows who she is! eheh!) like end up dying from the fumes ... well, sorry!!

 *makes oops face*

Joking, people, joking.

But anyways here it is, in all it's glory.

Altogether ... I think it must've took about 20 hours (like I am totally guessing here ...)

So, tell me what you think, my darlings!!

Blessings,

~The Abilaine

Mad Hatter hat, Minecraft sword, and King Thranduil's crown

Ok ok, so as I said I am going to post some of my creations. :D

So let's get to it.

Mad Hatter's Hat (from Alice in Wonderland)

Ta-da!
Had sooo much fun doing this.
The base is cardboard, and then I bought some brown material and sewed it onto the cardboard with tan/gold thread. Believe me, strenuous work people! LOL! But I was very surprised at how it turned out.

Originally I was planning to cover the whole hat in the green-ish lace at the top but I changed my mind when it turned out this way, with the sort of "steampunk" look and feel. Hehe!

I NEVER keep up with how much time I spend on something because when it's done, it's done. Hehe! But I think it took about 10 hours to make the whole thing.

"WE'RE ALL MAD HERE!!"

Minecraft sword

Ok, so for those who don't know, Minecraft is a game consisting of pixels only. Awesomely epic (not to mention the only game I will play most of the time). Hehe!

This is mostly cardboard. I used heavy duty glue to bind everything together, and to give extra support and weight I stuck a long price of thin wood through the whole length.

Took an INSANE ammount of time for the pixel look. A took sheets of very thin cardboard and spray painted them gold and silver. Then cut out each one and glued them onto the sword. HARD work and about went crazy (maybe because
of the fumes coming from the paint buuut ... LOL!)

It's hilarious fun to go around the house and wield my weapon at my siblings. HAHAHAH! But be assured there have been no casualties. XD

King Thranuil's Elven crown

Last but not least people. Did this a while back when "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" came out (whenever that was).

I was not wanting to make the project cost a fortune (I mean who has a fortune to spend at Hobby Lobby anyways?!) thusly I got rather creative.

Belive it or not, you are looking at real sticks right here. :D Went out into the woods like a pioneer and hunted me up some sticks (yea, I am regular crazy creator), then used gardening wire wrapped around them to get the shape. I spray painted the whole thing with matalic gold/sliver paint. I made paper leaves (because I was a bit pressed for funds right then), spray painted them, and attached them with the wire (by the way, BAD idea folks). Am going to have to go back and probably hot glue them on. :)

(and, yes, so far it has held up nicely seeing how it was constructed... XD)

So there you have it.

Comment what ya'll think!! Hehe!

Oh, and I will be actually posting step by step craziness of my future projects. :D

Hugs!

...

And, yes, you may have caught glimps of this in the photos above. Painted this on my wall. XD
